The Citroën C1, Peugeot 107 and Toyota Aygo share a platform and are made in the same factory, mechanically they are almost indentical, originally launched in 2005, as a great value city car, it's perfect as a runaround or for making medium length trips with two to four occupants. The Citroen C1, Peugeot 107 and Toyota Aygo was available in 3-door or 5-door hatchback versions, with either a 1.0 litre petrol or 1.4 litre diesel engine. The car received a facelift in 2009, which incorporated a new front bumper and grille along with some trim alterations, plus a small improvement in engine emissions. A second facelift in 2012, brought in another bumper with LED daytime lights plus economy improvements.

Two years later in 2014, the Citroen C1 and companion cars got a complete overhaul and the second generation was launched, named 108 for the Peugeot version, with totally new styling and refinement, but mechanically is still similar to the orignal. A 1.2 engine was added to the range, although the 1.0 remains the most popular and efficient.
